WELCOME!
Welcome to Blazerville, the Fifth Grade Classroom Community at Greenwood Elementary School. GES Fifth Grade is an eMINTs classroom utilizing inquiry-based methods to master the curriculum. Students—“Blazers”—are challenged to take their thinking (and learning) to a higher level, as they transition into the middle school years.
Social Studies topics focus on U.S. history and geography studies of all the Americas (the Western Hemisphere); Science covers life (systems in living things and populations and ecosystems), Earth (the solar system and beyond and the solid Earth), and physical (matter and energy, and color, light and sound) areas; Math incorporates problem-solving techniques in all operations through the Everyday Math approach; and Communication Arts builds students’ abilities in reading, writing, speaking and word study while expanding their use of a wide variety of research materials and resources. Ms. Rhonda Glaser is the Fifth Grade Instructor.
